| Site-Based 2+2 Program |
If you are an undergraduate interested in an Engineering degree, but are physically attending a university or community college in North Carolina , then the site-based 2+2 program may be for you. In association with other universities in North Carolina, this degree program has been designed for those undergraduates who are able to attend their first two years of study at another location, such as Lenoir Community College, Craven Community College, UNC Wilmington, or UNC Asheville. After finishing the first two years of matriculation requirements for the Engineering degree, the students may then finish their studies at NC State University, NC A&T, or UNC Charlotte. This program provides an essential outreach service to universities that currently do not have a full-fledged Engineering program in place, so that students at those universities can still pursue a degree in this field. Although being enrolled and in attendance at the particular site is required, some of the coursework will be presented online.

Transferring |
After completing the first two years of matriculation requirements at your initial site, you may then transfer to the second university to complete your Engineering degree. To finish your degree, you may elect to attend NC State, NC A&T, or UNC Charlotte. You may instead choose to complete a BSE in Mechatronics at UNC Asheville. Be sure to see your site advisor for the transfer application form and procedures.

BSE Mechatronics |
If you are interested in a BSE in Mechatronics, you may pursue your first two years of engineering study at one of the three initial sites (Craven, Lenoir, UNC Asheville, UNC Wilmington), or at NC State. After the first two years of engineering matriculation requirements are met, you may then transfer to Asheville and apply for entrance in the Mechatronics degree-seeking program. See your site advisor to apply to this degree program.
