| Course Objectives |
|
At the conclusion of the course, students will:
- Be able to develop analytical models and conduct analysis of structures under the influence of seismic actions.
- Develop an understanding for the effects that earthquakes have on structural systems.
- Develop an understanding of basic aspects critical for seismic design, assessment, and retrofit.
- Apply the basic principals of Performance-Based Earthquake Engineering via Direct Displacement-Based Design to a variety of structural systems.
- Apply the principals of capacity design for the proper detailing of RC structures subjected to seismic conditions.

- NOTE: The Flip4Mac plug-in causes problems when viewing Mediasite presentations and should be disabled.
Linux:
- Playback of Mediasite presentations on Linux is accomplished via the Moonlight Project, an open source implementation of Microsoft Silverlight. For more installation on the installation and configuration of Moonlight, please visit http://www.go-mono.com/moonlight/. The compatible operating systems and browsers are listed on this page.
