     ISE 707 Real-Time Control of Automated Manufacturing
 

Concepts and application of real-time control of automated manufacturing systems. Development of prototype manufacturing control applications involving introductions to following topics: computer architecture; real-time, multi-tasking operating systems; data modeling; multi-processing systems; local area networks; inter-task communication; and development of multi-tasking control systems. Design development of control system. 3 credit hours

Course Requirements  

There will be about 10 homework assignments.

Students will be required to present a paper (mid-semester) and a final project.
Software Requirements  

No software is required. If students have access to Wonderware's
inTouch they can use it for their projects.

 
Textbook  

No textbook is required. Handouts will be provided.

  • Silverlight  (viewers may be prompted to install this when first viewing a presentation)

  • NOTE:  The Flip4Mac plug-in causes problems when viewing Mediasite presentations and should be disabled.

Linux:

  • Playback of Mediasite presentations on Linux is accomplished via the Moonlight Project, an open source implementation of Microsoft Silverlight. For more installation on the installation and configuration of Moonlight, please visit http://www.go-mono.com/moonlight/. The compatible operating systems and browsers are listed on this page.
