     ISE 723 Production Planning, Scheduling and Inventory
 

An analysis of Production-Inventory systems. Discussion of commonly used planning and scheduling techniques. Introduction to use of math modeling for solution of planning and scheduling problems. Interface with quality control and information systems. 3 credit hours

 
     

Prerequisite
 

Courses in calculus, probability and statistics or consent of instructor.

 

Course Objectives  

This is a first course in Production and Inventory Control designed to develop both a theoretical understanding and a practical basis for work in the area.

Examinations: Three (3) take-home exams

Projects: Forecasting project (Note: The software for the forecasting project is designed to work with a Microsoft PC, not a Mac.)

  • Silverlight  (viewers may be prompted to install this when first viewing a presentation)

  • NOTE:  The Flip4Mac plug-in causes problems when viewing Mediasite presentations and should be disabled.

Linux:

  • Playback of Mediasite presentations on Linux is accomplished via the Moonlight Project, an open source implementation of Microsoft Silverlight. For more installation on the installation and configuration of Moonlight, please visit http://www.go-mono.com/moonlight/. The compatible operating systems and browsers are listed on this page.
