NCSU
Network Access
Engineering Online courses require Eos or Unity accounts (Eos and Unity are the same thing and will typically be referred to as Eos IDs) in order to access the secured Online Course Materials. Eos accounts will be created automatically within seven business days once the Engineering Online office receives a student's registration. The cost of an Eos account and access to online software and course materials is already included in the tuition.

Your Eos ID and password
Your Eos ID gives you access to many computing and Internet resources at NC State. You will need to use your ID and password to log in to the Engineering Online's computer server for access to all online course materials. Your Eos ID will remain the same throughout the time you are affiliated with NC State. It is the basis for your Eos e-mail address and may not be shared. For your account security, your password must remain private. You should change it the first time you log on to your account and at least once a semester.

Your Eos ID
Your Eos ID is automatically generated and is based upon your first and middle intitial and the first six letters of your last name (all lowercase). You can also find out your login ID by calling the Engineering Online office.

Your password
Your initial password is your SSN (Social Security Number) without hyphens or spaces.

Remote access to the campus server
To access the campus computing network from a remote area, use telnet. Go to: login.ncsu.edu or dialup2.eos.ncsu.edu

For complete information regarding Eos and Unity accounts, please visit the Eos home page at: http://www.eos.ncsu.edu/

Students, Staff and Faculty may also download a free copy of Norton Anti-Virus Software through a site license. This software is licensed only for use on registered student, staff or faculty's personal computers.

If you need further assistance, you may reach the Eos help desk by e-mail at help@ncsu.edu or by phone (919) 515-HELP.
