Concepts and application of real-time control of automated manufacturing systems. Development of prototype manufacturing control applications involving introductions to following topics: computer architecture; real-time, multi-tasking operating systems; data modeling; multi-processing systems; local area networks; inter-task communication; and development of multi-tasking control systems. Design development of control system. 3 credit hours.
