MAE 517 Advanced Precision Manufacturing for Products, Systems & Processes
    Syllabus    |     Lectures & Notes    |     Homework    |     Resources    |     Message Board    |    Logistics

This is a graduate level course designed for graduate students in Master’s and Ph.D’s programs. This course examines precision issues for products, manufacturing machines, manufacturing processes, and measurements. Both traditional and non-traditional manufacturing processes are discussed, including metal cutting, laser material processing, injection molding, and semi-conductor manufacturing. Modern manufacturing technologies are distinct in their multifarious nature in product sizes, materials, energy forms, theories, and information types. However, the key to its success relies on the management of precision. 3 credit hours.
